DANCEBACHATA Home Classes Bachata Kizomba DVDs News Holidays About
Dancebachata was formed in June 2005 following a truly inspiring trip to the Dominican Republic, the home of Bachata. Our key aim is to develop and promote Bachata and to raise awareness of the Dominican Republic, however, our varied knowledge and skills enable us to teach a unique combination of Salsa and Bachata in our weekly classes along with Kizomba on a monthly basis. We pride ourselves in setting up the first Bachata club in the UK, where we encourage both Salsa dancers and newcomers to learn and practice all style of Bachata - Dominican, European and Bachatango. We work with and represent various Dominican groups in the UK including the Dominican Republic Tourist Board and welcome their input into our work.

Anna

Anna has practised many forms of dance and has been dancing salsa for more than a decade. Her passion and love of Bachata led her to train in the Dominican Republic and in Italy (where Bachata has been established for over ten years). Her other passion is all things Cuban, especially Los Van Van and Havana Club!  She has a teaching background in fitness, health, languages and IT and has worked with adults and children.  Her full time career is in events management and fundraising for major charities.

Sofia

After my first visit to a Latin club in Lisbon, I became so physically charged that I immediately began practising Salsa and Kizomba every week in my living room!  I then joined a dance school where I practised Cuban, LA and Puerto Rican styles of salsa with an emphasis on ladies styling.  I moved to London in 2005 where I work for a charity in the field of natural sciences and where I am continuing to explore my passion for dance which will no doubt remain unchanged for a very very long time...

Rico

Rico started dancing from a very young age and mastered a variety of dances such as Folk, Jive, Salsa, Kizomba and Kuduro.  He trained in a dance school in Portugal from 2001 to 2004.  Rico is also a fully qualified Karate, Aikido and Boxing instructor which has led him to teach and give workshops in various European countries.

Keith

Keith began dancing Salsa more than ten years ago when he was taught by Nelson Batista, widely acclaimed for introducing Salsa to the UK.  Keith can adapt to different styles and enjoys interpreting the music.  He is well known in East London and teaches various Salsa classes every week.  He is a fun and energetic instructor and an advocate of smooth and sensual dance.
