| Dancebachata was formed in June 2005 following a truly inspiring trip to the Dominican Republic, the home of Bachata. Our key aim is to develop and promote Bachata and to raise awareness of the Dominican Republic, however, our varied knowledge and skills enable us to teach a unique combination of Salsa and Bachata in our weekly classes along with Kizomba on a monthly basis. We pride ourselves in setting up the first Bachata club in the UK, where we encourage both Salsa dancers and newcomers to learn and practice all style of Bachata - Dominican, European and Bachatango. We work with and represent various Dominican groups in the UK including the Dominican Republic Tourist Board and welcome their input into our work. |

Sofia
After my first visit to a Latin club in Lisbon, I became so physically charged that I immediately began practising Salsa and Kizomba every week in my living room! I then joined a dance school where I practised Cuban, LA and Puerto Rican styles of salsa with an emphasis on ladies styling. I moved to London in 2005 where I work for a charity in the field of natural sciences and where I am continuing to explore my passion for dance which will no doubt remain unchanged for a very very long time...
